Meet Dr. Draper
Dr. Draper holds both a dental and a medical degree. He earned his dental degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia in 2003 and his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center, then completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center and Baylor College of Dentistry.
He is an attending surgeon at Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas, where he treats oral disorders, injuries and malformations.

The Extraction Process
Consultation and X-Rays
We start with a thorough evaluation and X-rays of the tooth and surrounding bone. Ask anything you like.
Your Treatment Plan
We explain the procedure and talk through anesthesia and sedation options based on your comfort level.
The Extraction
Local anesthesia numbs the area, with sedation if needed. We remove the tooth gently to limit trauma and speed healing.
Right After
You get home-care instructions, spoken and written, and we usually schedule a follow-up to check your progress.
Aftercare and Recovery
- Diet: soft foods for the first 24 to 48 hours; skip hot, spicy, acidic or crunchy foods.
- Oral hygiene: rinse gently with salt water when we tell you to, and do not brush near the site for 24 hours.
- Pain relief: over-the-counter medication or a prescription, as we recommend.
- Activity: rest the first day and avoid hard exercise or anything that could disturb the clot.
- When to call: mild swelling and soreness are normal. Call us for severe pain, bleeding that will not stop, fever or pus, or trouble breathing.
Replacing the Tooth
Replacing a missing tooth keeps your smile healthy and working. We offer:
