WHAT ARE INLAYS AND ONLAYS

An onlay is used to repair a tooth when the chewing cusps have been affected. An inlay does not “spill over” the outer edge of the tooth.  An Inlay/Onlay can be made of:
  • Composite material which is gentle to opposing teeth but prone to more wear and discoloration
  • Tooth-colored porcelain is the most natural-looking and it wears well over time
  • On occasion, it may be decided that a gold inlay/onlay is necessary as it is the strongest restorative option.

Needed my upper plate fitted once again. Drs. Fort and Schilling took a special cast impression, sent the plate over to her other office, and finished fitting the next morning. Just ate fried chicken and they fit and worked perfectly. Never accept second best, Drs. Fort and Schilling is the Best!
